Delete Your BayRight Account

How to request deletion, what we remove, and what we may keep for compliance.

You can close your BayRight account at any time. After we process your request, you will no longer be able to sign in or use wallet and bill-payment features tied to that account.

How to request deletion

  • In the app: open Profile, scroll to Delete account, and follow the steps (you will confirm by typing DELETE).
  • By email: send your request from the email on your account to contact@bayright.com. Include your full name and registered phone number so we can verify you.

What we delete or deactivate

  • Your login access and active profile
  • Ability to fund the wallet or pay new bills with that account
  • Marketing preferences and optional app personalization tied to the account

What we may keep

Nigerian financial and anti-fraud rules require us to keep certain records even after your account is closed. We only keep what is needed for compliance, disputes, and security — not for marketing.

  • Transaction and wallet ledger records (amounts, references, timestamps)
  • Dispute, chargeback, and support case records
  • Fraud prevention and security logs (for example sign-in attempts and risk signals)

Retention period

How long we keep these records depends on the type of data and what the law requires — often several years for financial records. When retention ends, we delete or anonymize the data where we are allowed to do so.

After your request is processed

Personal profile access is removed and your account is marked deleted. Any wallet balance should be withdrawn or spent before you request deletion; support can help if you have questions about an open balance.
